Clayton Reeck Bertram, son of The Reverend Arnold Bertram and Thora Reeck Bertram, was born on August 8, 1946 in Waterloo Iowa; passed away quietly with his wife by his side December 7, 2021. Clayton grew up in Storm Lake, Iowa where his youth was spent doing his favorite pastime's of hunting and fishing. He graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1964 and went on to graduate from Buena Vista College with a major in Elementary Education. After teaching in his hometown for three years, he began a new career in the construction industry known as Bertram Construction. But as his world changed life brought him to his new home in San Diego, CA. where he met and married Sandy and created Bertram's Pacific Shore Construction; which he successfully owned and operated until his retirement. His retirement was short lived as he then pursued a new part-time job working for the City of Escondido at his beloved Dixon Lake where he remained working until his final sickness prevented it.

Clayton's priority was always his family. His daughter; Steph Jakubik and husband Tom, grandchildren; Drew and Emily, son; Matt and girlfriend Joselyn; step daughter; Tracy DuCharme and husband Rod, grandchildren; McKenna and Skylar. Stepson; Scott Creech and granddaughter; Hunter.

Clayton, or Bert as his friends called him, will always be remembered as a caring, loving guy with a wonderful sense of humor, and a laugh that could fill a room and brighten your day. His wife Sandy will forever be grateful to have this gift of a man in her life, and he will truly be missed by all that knew and loved him.
