Obituary For Pamela Louise Mayo Holloway

Pamela (Pam) Louise Mayo Holloway, age 61 passed away on January 24, 2021 in Lake Elsinore, Ca. Pam was raised in Leesville, Louisiana. She and her son moved to Texas in her early twenties where she met and married and added 3 daughters to her family. In 2000 the family moved to California. Pam was always up for adventure. The irony in her adventures was her sense of direction was the worst, she always got lost. She was a nonjudgmental person and would allow leniency in her friends that endured them to her. She created an air around herself that would make you feel as if you held her full attention. Her friendships were lifelong. She would give everything she had to help someone in need, sometimes to the detriment of herself. She had a big heart for people and animals. There was rarely a time she didn’t have some fluffy little dog at her side. There were more than one, but every one of them were her babies. She enjoyed craft projects which expressed her artsy side, but then she would pick up a book and become engrossed with the story and sometimes read through the night. Her pride was in her family and especially her grandchildren. The most special moment for her was being present for the birth of her last grandchild. She would say it was the highlight of her life to witness his birth. There were no limits to her ability to spoil a child with her love and attention. One very fond memory this friend has of her is a trip we took to Padre Island with a group of friends. We hopped over to Mexico for some “shopping” and of course we ended up lost in the streets, tired, hungry and thirsty. One person in the group had purchased a really large vase and somehow convinced Pam to carry it for her. I can still see her face as we wandered through the hot city streets and as the day wore on Pam was still carrying someone else’s purchase. She was not a happy camper. But the best memory of that trip is us actually dancing in the streets. I still laugh when I think of that trip.

She is survived by her children, Robert Lynn Mayo - Port Lavaca, TX; Ashly Nichole Holloway and partner Justin deSeve – Colorado Springs, CO, Megan Leigh Holloway and partner Justin Biggs - Lake Elsinore, CA; Samantha Rene Holloway and partner Kurt Hauser, Frazier Park, CA. Grandchildren: Tori Shay McCoy, Taylor Joe McCoy, Robby Lynn Mayo, Shelby Lynn Mayo and, Reverend Andrew Holloway. Brother: Robert J Mayo – Leesville, LA, Sister: Margaret M Williams – Baytown, TX. Aunts: Marcelle Crosswell - Covington, GA, Margaret Spies-Sala- Moses Lake, WA. Also survived by her are many nephews, nieces, grand nephews and nieces. Preceded in death: Father: Elmer R Mayo, Mother: Ruth L Mayo. Brothers: Edward R Mayo, Kenneth A Mayo.

Viewing will be at Alhiser-Comer Mortuary, 225 S. Broadway, Escondido, CA 92025 on February 6, 2021 at 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. A memorial will be held at an undisclosed location following the viewing.

Pam, our life was enriched having loved you and sharing memories with you. You will be missed, but I know that you are still with us in spirit and will share in our future joys. God bless and Godspeed until we meet again. We love you.

Margaret and Bob, I am so sorry to hear about Pam. Even though our lives went in different directions, I have so many memories of the things we did during our youth. I know she had health issues over the past several years, but I lost my source for family information when Margie passed away in 2018 and have heard nothing since then. I never forgot you cousin. I hope you are at peace. Nita Louise Mayo Barnes

I'm going to miss you my sister, my best friend. We went through a lot together and overcame it all. I'm was thinking about us riding out the hurricane together. You laughing at me because I wanted to get a cup of coffee before going in the closet because of a tornado warning. Then the time we got pulled over in Louisiana because I was speeding. Oh my there are a million other stories I could tell. I'm holding on to the good memories because we shared so many. Love you, your baby sister, Margaret
