Ramona Lea Owens, born January 18, 1943 to Orville Augustus Roach and Nancy Jane Freemon in Casper, WY. Ramona passed away at 12:20 am on October 7, 2024. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when her children needed her most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. A friend to many, she leaves behind a legacy of kindness and strength.
She is preceded in death by her parents Orville Roach and Nancy Freeman, her husband Bill Owens, Sr., her eldest son Bill Owens, Jr., brothers Roy Roach and Ray (Butch) Roach, as well as sister Shirley Hostetler.
Ramona leaves behind her son Larry Owens, daughters, Deanna (Owens) & Richard Gravius, Leslie (Owens) & Stephen Williams, and Tammi Owens, her best friend and sister Joan Simmons, brothers Bill Christ and Stanley Gardner, 12 beautiful grandchildren, 24 precious great-grandbabies and several nieces and nephews.
Our family’s matriarch in every single way. Our lives are better for having known her.
The final farewells will be held Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Regency Church located at 7038 Pickering Ave., Whittier, CA 90602. Celebration of life reception to follow 12:00 PM at the Double Tree Hilton located at 7320 Greenleaf Ave., Whittier CA 90602.
